Using the data point, we wanted to create an image for both editorial and social that embodied the contradiction of physical pain and an unawareness of it. The hand is a separate entity being forced upon the stove, attempting to withdraw itself while its owner remains unaware. We chose a high contrast, painterly style, with a nod to pulp drama in the composition.
